This role is centered on delivering direct care and meaningful daily support in educational, residential, and community settings. The work is varied, people-focused, and designed to help individuals build skills, increase independence, and live with dignity.
As a Direct Support Professional, you may spend your day helping with everyday activities such as personal care, meal preparation, community outings, recreation, and other day-to-day needs. The environment can include adults or children, and shifts may fall on days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
Compensation and Bonus
New team members may qualify for a sign-on bonus of $1,500. Pay is stated at $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, with the exact rate depending on experience and qualifications.
What the Job Involves
You will support individuals across all areas of their lives while encouraging choice, independence, and safe practice. The position also requires attention to Springbrook policies and applicable state rules to help ensure smooth and secure program operations.
Schedule and Work Conditions
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Shifts may include days, evenings, and overnight hours, and weekend work is available. Flexibility is important, including the possibility of mandatory overtime when needed. Staff may also be moved to other locations based on business requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have a high school diploma or an equivalent credential. Prior experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication is important, along with basic comfort using email and common software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. The ability to quickly learn new software is also expected.
This role involves physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs independently and helping lift loads above 50 lbs. Candidates must be able to carry out all required physical interventions, meet the standards needed to operate Springbrook vehicles, and hold a valid driver’s license.
