Role Overview
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) acts as the chief operational leader, collaborating closely with the CEO to manage and deliver the company's strategic, financial, commercial, and operational goals. This position oversees key revenue-generating divisions, drives organizational performance, aligns corporate initiatives, and ensures accountability for business plans and financial targets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the CEO in leading and managing company-wide activities.
- Drive the execution of the company’s strategic plan and annual objectives.
- Align corporate strategy with departmental and employee goals.
- Lead initiatives to improve profitability, efficiency, productivity, and shareholder value.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and client focus.
- Identify and resolve operational, commercial, and organizational issues promptly.
- Translate strategy into actionable plans and oversee their execution.
- Provide executive supervision of business units including Investment Banking, Sales & Services, Wealth Management, Trading & Brokerage, and Treasury & Financial Institutions.
- Drive revenue growth, monitor business performance against budgets, and identify opportunities for business development and cross-selling.
- Lead enterprise-wide strategic projects ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and adherence to objectives.
- Coordinate efforts across business units, supporting transformation and process improvements.
- Serve as a member of the Executive Management Team, chair delegated meetings, and foster leadership accountability.
- Partner with CEO and CFO to manage financial objectives, budgets, and resource allocations effectively.
- Oversee operational excellence by collaborating with operational and IT leadership to advance service delivery, client experience, business continuity, and organizational resilience.
- Support governance by monitoring compliance, regulatory matters, risk management, and ethical standards.
- Represent the company to stakeholders, clients, regulators, and business partners as delegated.
- Act as CEO during CEO absences, maintaining leadership continuity and exercising delegated authority.
- Uphold corporate ethics and confidentiality, support cybersecurity, and enforce regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, Law, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CAIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalents.
- At least 12 years of progressive senior leadership experience in financial services, banking, capital markets, investment or wealth management.
- Experience managing multiple business units and senior teams, with a proven history of driving growth, operational excellence, and organizational transformation.
- Strong command of financial regulations, governance frameworks, and executive-level strategy implementation.

Purpose of the Position
