About the Opportunity
Become part of the collaborative and high-performing team at Bounty Dairy, utilizing Halter technology to enhance farm operations. This role provides comprehensive hands-on experience across various facets of modern dairy farming including milking, calving, feeding stock, effluent management, spraying, and fencing. You will also develop skills related to large-scale farming management such as shed and animal health, mating strategies, and livestock movement using advanced technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in hands-on dairy activities including milking and calving.
- Manage feeding schedules and stock welfare.
- Handle effluent processes and farm maintenance tasks such as spraying and fencing.
- Operate and learn to utilize Halter technology to improve farm efficiency and animal wellbeing.
- Support the maintenance of animal health and implement mating plans.
- Coach and mentor junior or new team members when necessary.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will be passionate about farming, proactive, and eager to grow their expertise within a supportive environment. Essential attributes include a strong orientation towards animal welfare and health and safety practices along with effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Experience in dairy farming or a keen interest in developing this field.

- Capability to provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Possession of a current New Zealand restricted or full driver’s license.

The farm spans 629 hectares, milking 1,600 cows with a peak capacity of 1,700 cows during winter across a 60-bail rotary system.
