Role Overview
The Zambia-based Customer Service and Sales Executive will work closely with the team to manage service pricing, customer interactions, and space utilization across feeder vessels. This position prioritizes building sales strategies, maintaining agent performance, and supporting commercial transactions to enhance operational efficiency and promote business growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle pricing inquiries via telephone and email communications.
- Ensure agencies correctly file RFAs/PMTs in accordance with established agreements.
- Assess customer requests related to freetime periods and other commercial concerns.
- Investigate and confirm Freight Cargo Agreements (FCAs).
- Oversee and optimize space allocation on GCS/GC2/CSG/Intra Gulf feeder vessels for effective utilization.
- Evaluate agent performance concerning space usage metrics.
- Coordinate with agencies regarding changes to services, vessel schedules, and new service introductions.
- Monitor the usage of refrigerated containers closely.
- Compile weekly reports on space utilization for feeder services.
- Produce CFMT reports on a weekly basis.
- Develop Product Release Documents (PRD) and manage Ocean/Feeder links.
- Handle freight difference assignments related to Cash on Delivery (COD) requests.
- Provide assistance in preparing quotations for tender accounts.
- Collaborate with the Dangerous Goods (DG) Desk to verify non-dangerous commodity status.
- Support agents in resolving logistics management system issues.
- Partner with the Branch Manager to formulate and execute effective sales strategies.
- Engage in negotiation activities with customers to secure business deals.
- Conduct market research to uncover new business opportunities.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related disciplines.
- At least three years' experience in commercial shipping or trade operations.
- Strong analytical capabilities and communication proficiency.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and logistics software systems.
