Role Summary
We are looking for a driven Literacy Curriculum Specialist based in California, responsible for covering California and Hawaii. This role demands a self-motivated individual with a competitive spirit, strong sales orientation, and a passion for K-12 literacy instruction. The specialist will closely collaborate with Curriculum Specialist Managers and Account Managers, supporting the sales cycle from prospecting to closing. Establishing and maintaining relationships with school and district decision-makers in the Pacific market is essential. Candidates must be California residents to attend in-person customer meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed revenue goals across California and Hawaii.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations tailored to various customer interactions including conferences, workshops, sales meetings, pilot trainings, and program implementations.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with sales teams and K-12 education leaders.
- Work with sales and product management teams to promote Savvas literacy solutions effectively.
- Maintain expertise in Savvas products through certifications and training to support all sales stages.
- Lead product activation trainings and professional learning workshops for customers and at conferences.
- Collect and communicate customer insights to sales, product, and marketing teams to refine offerings.
- Collaborate internally across departments to ensure alignment, resolve issues, and guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Provide outstanding customer service fostering loyalty and satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in educational technology with proficiency in presenting digital solutions.
- Strong knowledge of K-12 literacy education theory and market trends.
- Excellent public speaking abilities with skill in delivering engaging presentations to various audiences.
- Exceptional persuasion and influencing skills targeting K-12 literacy experts and decision makers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to connect with all K-12 staff levels.
- Technologically adept, proficient with presentation hardware/software and comfortable with digital learning platforms.
- Understanding of sales strategies, market trends, and Savvas’s educational services continuum.
- Collaborative team player who can take initiative and manage projects independently.
- Strong organizational skills to manage time and resources effectively.
- Willingness to travel approximately 60% within the assigned territories including California and Hawaii.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or specialized training preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in K-12 education including classroom teaching.
- Proven history in education market sales and client servicing.
- Experience in networking with senior district administrators and decision-makers.
- Public speaking experience and ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency in English required; Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year, potentially including bonus or incentives.
