Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Science Curriculum Specialist dedicated to supporting our Mountain West territory. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for K-12 science education and a sales-driven mindset. The specialist will collaborate with Curriculum Specialist Managers, Account Managers, sales, and product teams to support and advance Savvas Science solutions from prospecting through closing. The candidate must reside within the Mountain West region to attend onsite customer meetings, ideally located in Denver, Phoenix, or Seattle.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth by contributing to achieving and surpassing sales targets across the Mountain West territory.
- Create and deliver impactful presentations encompassing exhibits, conferences, workshops, meetings, sales demos, pilot trainings, and program activations.
- Build and nurture strong, ongoing relationships with sales teams and K-12 decision makers across school, state, regional, and district levels.
- Work closely with sales and product management to promote Savvas Science products and services effectively.
- Maintain product knowledge through training and certification to support the complete sales process.
- Lead product activation training sessions and professional learning workshops for existing and new customers.
- Gather customer feedback and communicate insights to sales, product, and marketing teams to refine offerings and strategies.
- Collaborate internally to ensure alignment across teams and address customer satisfaction issues promptly.
- Deliver consistent, excellent customer service to foster loyalty and satisfaction.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of education technology experience with expertise in presenting digital solutions.
- Strong knowledge of K-12 science education theory, market trends, and pedagogy.
- Proven ability to deliver engaging, persuasive presentations to diverse audiences including educators and district leaders.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to connect at all organizational levels from paraprofessionals to superintendents.
- Proficiency in electronic presentation tools and comfort with technology across platforms (PC/Mac, whiteboards, 1:1 devices).
- Understanding of sales campaign strategies and educational market dynamics.
- Team-oriented, proactive self-starter capable of independently managing projects from start to finish.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Job Requirements
- Frequent travel (40-60%) within the Mountain West territory with occasional trips beyond; long-distance car travel may be necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- High reliability with attendance and punctuality expected.
- Adherence to company travel and expense policies.
- Must reside within the Mountain West area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or advanced specialty training is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in K-12 education, including classroom teaching.
- Proven track record in sales and servicing within the education market.
- Experience networking and engaging with district-level leaders and decision makers.
- Public speaking and presentation skills tailored to varied stakeholders, including adoption committees.
- Specialized training or certifications in the field are a plus.
- Spanish language proficiency is advantageous but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 annually.
