Role overview
The News Creator team focuses on expanding the news content ecosystem by building programs, partnerships, and operating models that help news creators succeed. This role works closely with product teams to understand creator segments and set priorities, while also partnering with news publishers and other internal stakeholders to move initiatives forward in a fast-changing news environment.
What you'll do
- Design, run, and improve large-scale initiatives that support and engage TikTok news creators.
- Develop trusted working relationships with news creators and journalists to strengthen news content strategies.
- Create clear success metrics with product partners, monitor performance against goals, and refine programs based on results.
- Work with operations teams to adapt and launch creator programs across global markets in line with core business goals.
- Partner with product teams to uncover growth opportunities using data, insights, and product roadmaps.
- Build strong cross-functional coordination with teams such as Communications, GR, Legal, and others to help programs run smoothly and scale effectively.
Requirements
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong familiarity with the digital news world, journalism, and the creator ecosystem, with experience in creator or content partnerships, media partnerships, program management, journalism, digital media, social platforms, or similar fields.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver end-to-end programs, including launch coordination, stakeholder alignment, measurement, and reporting.
- Solid project management capability, including handling several initiatives at once in a fast-moving setting.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with creators, journalists, publishers, media organizations, or similar external partners.
- Ability to work across functions with product, communications, policy, legal, operations, and related teams to achieve business goals.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including presenting updates and recommendations to internal and external audiences.
- Comfort using data and insights to shape strategy, evaluate program impact, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Preferred: prior experience in a newsroom, news agency, or news-focused organization.
- Preferred: background at a social media platform, technology company, media company, newsroom, or creator-led organization.
- Preferred: familiarity with creator monetization, audience growth, content strategy, and platform growth practices.
- Preferred: experience launching or scaling creator engagement, education, or community initiatives.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary for this position in the selected city is $93,600 to $220,400 per year. Pay may differ outside this range depending on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, the role may qualify for discretionary bonuses or incentives and restricted stock units.
Benefits can vary by employment type and location, but include medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays each year, 10 paid sick days per year, and 17 days of paid personal time (prorated at hire and increasing with tenure).
