About PinkBook

PinkBook is a dedicated technology platform crafted exclusively for the beauty industry, integrating business management, online booking, payments, and client engagement into one seamless system tailored to beauty professionals' workflows. Users can create branded profiles, manage services, accept bookings and payments, showcase their work, and connect with clients through PinkBook Discovery. The platform centers on solving real challenges faced by beauty professionals with existing tools and fuels its growth through a commitment to beauty culture, independent practitioners, creators, and communities.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Creative Marketing & Social Media Intern to spearhead and innovate PinkBook's social media presence. Unlike traditional internships limited to post scheduling or assisting roles, this position offers a chance for creative leadership in shaping a growing technology brand’s public identity. The intern will collaborate closely with the PinkBook team to design content, social strategies, campaigns, and creative concepts across platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, with considerable autonomy in developing ideas from conception to execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing PinkBook’s social media strategy and content direction.
  • Produce and manage engaging TikToks, Instagram Reels, Stories, posts, and other social media content.
  • Create content calendars and conceptualize campaign ideas.
  • Track relevant trends, conversations, creators, and opportunities related to beauty and social media.
  • Craft captions, hooks, scripts, and promotional messaging.
  • Showcase PinkBook’s features and beauty professionals using the platform through content creation.
  • Assist in campaign development targeting beauty professionals and their clientele.
  • Capture and support photo and video content production.
  • Engage with audience comments, messages, and community interactions.
  • Analyze content performance metrics and refine future content accordingly.
  • Experiment creatively with different content formats and approaches.
  • Contribute original ideas and help transform them into finalized content.
  • Support shaping the overall visual identity and voice of the PinkBook brand.

Unique Opportunity with Production Studio Access

Working with PinkBook offers privileged access to Round Table Media’s multifunctional production studio in Brampton, featuring professional equipment and facilities including video and photo production, audio recording, podcasting, broadcast capabilities, lighting, professional cameras, and studio shoots. Interns may utilize these resources for creating PinkBook content and, subject to approval and availability, for personal portfolio and creative projects, providing valuable tangible work samples.

Candidate Profile

  • Highly active and knowledgeable about social media platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram culture.
  • Genuine interest in beauty, fashion, culture, technology, creators, or digital media.
  • Possesses a natural talent for spotting and creating content that engages and captivates audiences.
  • Creative, inquisitive, and open to experimentation.
  • Communicates ideas clearly and works independently.
  • Organized with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • Eager for hands-on experience beyond observation.
  • Interested in building a professional portfolio through meaningful contributions.
  • Brings original perspectives, creativity, and initiative.

Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro), or Final Cut Pro is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates who already create content, maintain social media accounts, or have relevant creative projects are especially welcome.

Ideal For

This internship suits individuals aiming to develop careers in Social Media, Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Creative Direction, Brand Strategy, Beauty & Culture, Creator Marketing, Photography, Video Production, or Entrepreneurship. We particularly welcome applicants connected to the communities PinkBook serves, including Black beauty professionals, creators, and consumers.

Educational and Documentation Support

Students from schools or co-op programs may receive documentation confirming internship experience for placement, volunteer hours, or experiential learning, with PinkBook willing to coordinate with institutions.

Compensation

This is a volunteer internship without monetary remuneration. The program provides meaningful practical experience, mentorship, portfolio-building opportunities, professional connections, and access to a state-of-the-art creative production environment.
