Role Overview
The Country Manager for Australia will be responsible for founding and steering Pharming's Australian affiliate with a focus on the launch and sustainable expansion of its portfolio addressing rare diseases. As the top leader in Australia, you will oversee strategy, commercial operations, finances, compliance, and overall operational performance. This role demands an entrepreneurial and patient-centered leader capable of both strategic planning and active execution to achieve impactful results.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead Pharming's Australian affiliate and a talented cross-functional team emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and patient focus.
- Ensure organizational readiness for product launch and sustained growth, including talent development and succession planning.
- Drive coordinated launch efforts spanning Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Regulatory, and Operations, aligning with global and regional goals.
- Monitor launch KPIs and apply corrective strategies when necessary.
- Formulate and implement Australia's commercial strategy, focusing on patient identification, treatment availability, and business growth.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with healthcare providers, opinion leaders, payers, government officials, and industry associations.
- Represent Pharming at scientific and industry gatherings to strengthen brand presence.
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, governance, and ensure adherence to local laws, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or related discipline; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or rare diseases sectors.
- Proven track record in launching and commercializing specialty or rare disease therapies.
- Experience managing a company affiliate, business unit, or major commercial function.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and reimbursement environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead effective teams and manage financial performance and compliance.
