Overview
The Corporate Planning (CP) team is an integral part of the Strategic & Corporate Planning division at the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). This team steers the strategic direction of Singapore's tourism sector by identifying growth opportunities, evaluating risks, and crafting strategies aligned with the Tourism 2040 roadmap. The CP team transforms longer-term strategies into practical short- to medium-term plans, ensuring organizational synchronization and the achievement of STB’s strategic goals. Collaboration with the Strategic Planning team, which focuses on longer-term perspectives, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the corporate planning cycle by establishing strategic direction, engaging internal business units, and shaping actionable short- to medium-term work plans.
- Manage performance by setting targets, monitoring outcomes, and reporting progress to ensure alignment with STB’s objectives; collaborate with senior leadership to define goals for both STB and the broader tourism industry.
- Act as STB’s principal liaison with the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), supporting ministry and whole-of-government initiatives and coordinating between STB and MTI.
- Oversee the reporting of organizational performance through annual report scorecards.
- Support periodic reporting and updates to MTI, including coordinating data collection and input.
- Coordinate contributions from STB business units, work with MTI and other agencies on planning reviews, and assist with contingency plan implementation.
- Assist in data gathering and analysis for relevant workstreams.
- Organize corporate events and engagement sessions, including preparing content and managing event logistics.
Working Relationships
This role involves interaction across all STB business teams, providing comprehensive insight into Singapore’s tourism environment and operations. The incumbent will also collaborate closely with MTI and other government bodies, gaining exposure to economic agencies’ roles and how they integrate to advance Singapore's economic growth.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrates a strong interest in the tourism sector.
- Possesses a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
- Exhibits effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Shows strong stakeholder management capabilities and works well within teams.
- Capable of independently analyzing data and synthesizing insights.
- Possesses proficiency in Excel; familiarity with data analysis or reporting software is advantageous.
- Prior experience in government agencies or planning roles is considered beneficial.
- Displays business acumen, solid analytical thinking, and sound judgment.
- Effectively collaborates internally within STB and with external stakeholders.
