Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Construction Site Superintendent to lead large-scale multi-family residential projects in Vernon. This key role will manage daily site functions, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance for concrete and wood-frame construction, upholding Crowne Pacific’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce on-site safety policies to create a secure work environment for personnel, contractors, and visitors, with adherence to WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Review and interpret project documentation, ensuring technical accuracy and conformity with architectural and engineering standards.
- Maintain high-quality standards by supervising subcontractor performance and promptly addressing any deviations.
- Create and update construction schedules, anticipate potential delays or conflicts, and communicate solutions to project management.
- Organize daily site operations to maximize efficiency and resource allocation.
- Manage procurement of materials and labor to maintain uninterrupted project progress.
- Monitor project costs by reviewing invoices and tracking labor and materials expenditures, taking corrective measures as needed.
- Lead, mentor, and develop on-site personnel fostering a collaborative and motivated team culture.
- Facilitate clear communication among trades, internal teams, and external partners to align priorities and timelines.
- Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying problems and applying corrective action efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Attributes
- A minimum of 3 years' leadership experience in construction supervision.
- At least 5 years working in multi-family residential projects, predominantly wood-frame structures; experience with concrete podiums is advantageous.
- Strong capability in blueprint reading and a thorough understanding of the BC Building Code.
- Proficient in project management and office software including Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WorkSafeBC safety requirements and construction safety practices.
- Ability to apply scheduling techniques and recognize critical path elements.
- A proactive, hands-on approach combined with eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
- Team-focused attitude with readiness to collaborate and assist beyond assigned duties.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with sound problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders including tradespeople and consultants.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Capability to work full-time under construction site conditions and varying weather.
