Role Overview
The Construction Manager (Airport) will be responsible for leading and controlling all on-site construction operations for an airport cargo terminal project. The position requires ensuring that delivery stays safe, on program, within financial limits, and aligned with the required quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and continuously oversee all construction work taking place on site.
- Examine the main contractor’s schedule, key milestones, and performance indicators, and monitor progress against them.
- Manage site sequencing, logistics, and coordination between contractors and other project parties.
- Work closely with HSE and quality teams to maintain compliance with project standards and requirements.
- Track progress on site and help remove issues, delays, and physical constraints that affect execution.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and the final handover process.
- Liaise with airport authorities, operators, consultants, and contractors throughout the project.
- Participate in project meetings and provide timely progress updates, reports, and status feedback.
Experience and Qualifications
The role calls for 10 to 15 years of construction management experience on large infrastructure programs. Prior delivery experience with airport cargo terminals, logistics facilities, or aviation infrastructure is required, along with strong capability in stakeholder coordination and contractor management. A degree in civil engineering is needed.
