Role Summary
The Architectural Inspector will support construction supervision activities on architectural projects in Abu Dhabi. The position involves checking that site execution, materials, finishes, and related inspections comply with approved drawings, codes, specifications, inspection plans, and quality procedures.
Key Duties
- Track architectural works to confirm they follow the inspection plan, drawings, technical codes, and project specifications.
- Work closely with the Senior Architectural Engineer and other project stakeholders to provide technical support where needed.
- Review variations and changes to reduce their impact on time and cost.
- Examine contractor submissions and shop drawings to identify and resolve issues that could affect the stability or performance of architectural systems or components.
- Ensure contractor adherence to the approved Quality Control Plan and inspection protocols.
- Watch for safety matters connected to architectural installation activities.
- Prepare progress updates covering architectural elements of the project.
- Support the follow-up of NOCs from authorities when approvals are delayed or stalled.
- Keep complete site documentation, including daily site diaries in the required format and monthly progress photos.
- Follow up with the client to help move delayed approvals forward.
- Coordinate with contractor management teams to speed up submissions and approval workflows.
- Conduct and evaluate tests to verify quality requirements for finishes and building components through detailed site inspections.
- Check the placement, location, and quality of finishes and architectural structural components on site.
- Coordinate with on-site teams so that contractual obligations are met.
- Carry out architectural and material inspections as required.
- Raise NCRs when non-compliance is found and support corrective action closure.
- Make sure inspection reports are complete, accurate, and compliant with project requirements.
- Confirm that all execution and inspection activities match approved plans, drawings, codes, and specifications.
- Document daily logs, reports, submittals, testing records, executed works, and inspection outcomes.
- Work according to the Contract Administration Procedures Manual.
- Assist in inspecting completed works and carry out any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
- Monitor and report HSE issues and participate in HSE training and meetings.
Candidate Profile
This opportunity is intended for professionals with experience on architectural projects and construction supervision within a consultancy environment. Applicants should bring strong site inspection experience, solid documentation discipline, and the ability to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and clients in a fast-paced project setting.
Experience Requirement
A minimum of 7 years of total experience is required, including at least 5 years in the UAE. Prior consultancy-based construction supervision experience is essential, along with architectural project exposure.
