About the Opportunity
Join Auckland Council's proactive compliance team focusing on diverse stormwater-related regulatory challenges within the region. This role involves significant fieldwork, engaging directly with communities heavily impacted by recent floods and cyclones to help mitigate future extreme weather effects. You'll utilize and enforce regulations including the Resource Management Act, Building Act, and Local Government Act to ensure compliance and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate, engage, and provide guidance to customers regarding regulatory compliance around stormwater management.
- Operate primarily based in Central Auckland with necessary travel across the wider Auckland region.
- Conduct field inspections and compliance assessments related to stormwater regulations.
Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will bring regulatory or compliance experience related to stormwater/environmental regulations, coupled with strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with varied stakeholders. Being a proactive risk assessor and problem solver is essential. A tertiary qualification plus a minimum of two years in regulatory compliance roles will help ensure success. A current full New Zealand driver’s license is mandatory.
