Overview
This position aims to protect the company's market standing and reputation by establishing a cohesive compliance program that guarantees full alignment with the regulatory framework in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering thorough compliance assurance across all business functions while promoting a culture centered on integrity and proactive engagement with regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy a compliance framework that meets UAE regulatory mandates and supports corporate goals.
- Create and execute an annual compliance plan with defined priorities, allocation of resources, and metrics for evaluating performance.
- Set up ongoing compliance monitoring initiatives and testing systems to ensure steady oversight.
- Track regulatory changes from authorities such as RERA and DLD, evaluating their operational impacts.
- Perform impact analyses and adopt required adaptations to remain compliant over time.
- Handle regulatory reporting, necessary filings, and mandatory disclosures.
- Draft, update, and manage compliance policies, procedures, and control standards throughout the organization.
- Deliver structured communication and training programs to educate employees on compliance matters.
- Manage processes related to policy exceptions and ensure proper documentation.
- Carry out compliance testing to affirm control effectiveness and adherence to regulations.
- Investigate compliance breaches and apply corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Conduct diligence assessments and continuous oversight of third-party vendors and partners.
- Advise business units and projects on compliance strategy and risk mitigation.
- Report compliance statuses, new issues, and program outcomes to senior leadership.
- Lead complex investigations into compliance violations and regulatory breaches.
- Develop and implement remediation plans, tracking corrective actions to completion.
- Maintain thorough documentation of incidents and resolutions.
- Execute risk-based due diligence reviews for third-party relationships including vendors and subcontractors.
- Oversee third-party compliance adherence and contractual consistency.
- Create and maintain frameworks for ongoing third-party compliance assessments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Mandatory professional certification in compliance such as CCEP, ICA, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated 8 to 10 years of experience in compliance positions within regulated sectors.
- At least 5 years of work tenure in the UAE or GCC region, preferably within real estate or construction industries.
- Expertise in compliance monitoring and regulatory liaison.
