The organization is also committed to building a healthier future through positive change and fostering an equitable, inclusive, and growth-oriented workplace.
Role Overview
The Community Specialist role combines premium guest service with community engagement. You will share detailed product knowledge, communicate the brand’s culture authentically, and help execute the store’s community plan through relationship-building, events, product seeding, and studio engagement. The position also focuses on creating an excellent in-store experience while bringing a community-minded perspective to guest interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a strong guest experience by interacting in a way that respects customers’ time and needs.
- Identify customer requirements and provide tailored support for purchases and returns.
- Explain product features clearly and highlight the value and performance benefits.
- Support the floor team in delivering customised purchase and return assistance.
- Process guest transactions accurately and on time, including relevant omnichannel services such as ship-from-store, in line with company standards.
- Stay mobile on the sales floor to engage guests and respond to store needs as they arise.
- Collect guest feedback and work with store leadership to resolve concerns effectively.
- Help implement the store’s community strategy through community foundations and guest experience initiatives.
- Drive the brand’s Move Strategy in alignment with community and brand objectives.
- Organise team involvement in selected gym and studio classes to support genuine relationship-building and brand visibility.
- Build and maintain local partnerships with ambassadors, Sweat Collective members, studio owners, athletes, and other influential community contacts.
- Identify opportunities in the local area for new ambassadors or partners and strengthen the store’s role as a community destination.
- Participate in, support, and help host local and regional community events.
- Carry out product seeding through community partners and ambassadors.
- Analyse community-related business information and share observations and recommendations with store leadership.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable team environment where differences are welcomed and valued.
Requirements
- Legally permitted to work in the country where the store is located.
- Able to travel to the assigned store using reliable transportation.
- Flexible to work according to store requirements.
- Availability may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- During peak periods, special events, or other business needs, shifts may also include early mornings, late nights, or overnight hours, subject to local law and team expectations.
- At least 1 year of retail or sales experience.
- Active involvement in the local fitness and wellness community, with genuine local connections and insight.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or higher, is a plus.
- Helpful background in building and maintaining relationships with clients, groups, or partners, and in motivating others toward goals.
What We Value
- A commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Honest, fair, and ethical behaviour.
- Strong relationship-building and partnership skills.
- Organised planning and prioritisation.
- Collaborative teamwork and openness to diverse viewpoints.
- Curiosity, feedback receptiveness, and a desire to keep learning.
- Accountability and self-driven leadership.
- Clear and effective communication.
Work Environment
This role can involve a range of environments, including the store floor with bright lighting and loud music, as well as community locations outside the store. The work includes meeting new people, strengthening community relationships, and taking part in fitness- or movement-based events. You may work independently, with a team, and at times with computers or other devices. The role can occasionally require moving boxes of up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg) or using ladders to access materials.
Benefits & Perks
lululemon offers a total rewards package designed to support body, mind, and spirit. Along with competitive base pay and a team-based bonus plan, benefits may include paid time off, generous employee discounts, fitness and yoga classes, a parenthood top-up program, and personal and professional development opportunities. Availability of these benefits may depend on location and employment type, and some may have eligibility requirements. The company may update or change benefits at any time without advance notice.
Interview & Accommodation
Candidates who move forward to interview will be contacted by a manager or a member of the People & Culture team. Applicants or employees who need a reasonable adjustment to perform the essential duties of the role are encouraged to discuss this when arranging the interview so that an equitable and barrier-free hiring process can be supported.
