Overview

ASB Bank is offering four permanent roles for highly skilled Client Directors within its Corporate Banking division. Three roles are located in Auckland and one outside the city. The Corporate Banking team serves as the bank's primary interface for intricate financing and relationship management with corporate clients. The team aims to be the trusted advisor to New Zealand businesses by delivering innovative banking solutions, excellent customer service, and insightful market expertise to drive growth and enhance customer experiences.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of large, sophisticated corporate clients while acquiring new bank relationships.
  • Engage strategically with CEOs, CFOs, and Boards of Directors in the Auckland region and beyond.
  • Provide strategic advice and tailor banking solutions based on in-depth market knowledge and client needs.
  • Lead a team including an Associate Client Director and a Senior Analyst, nurturing their professional development and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate closely with internal product teams and external advisers, adopting a unified approach to exceed client expectations and enhance bank visibility in the corporate sector.
  • Maintain necessary in-office presence to effectively manage teams and client relations, while benefiting from flexible work policies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience and success in corporate or institutional banking with strong technical and market expertise.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with confidence engaging senior leadership and boards.
  • Strategic, well-rounded thinker with broad knowledge of New Zealand’s corporate banking landscape.
  • Established network within the New Zealand corporate and institutional banking community is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, results-oriented mindset, and ability to deliver innovative, value-adding solutions.
  • Professional demeanor, polished communication, and confidence essential for building trust and influencing stakeholders.
