About the Role
Aldar Education invites applications for the position of Classroom Assistant (UAE National) at Mamoura British Academy, Abu Dhabi, starting August 2026. Mamoura British Academy follows the British curriculum with Lower, Middle, and Senior School sections located in a modern facility in central Abu Dhabi. Responsibilities
- Support individual pupils or groups both inside and outside classrooms to engage in daily activities, attending to their social, emotional, and physical needs.
- Act proactively regarding health and safety concerns.
- Assist in applying and monitoring individual education plans for pupils with diverse needs.
- Support students facing additional challenges such as emotional or behavioral difficulties, helping them develop social skills.
- Help maintain pupil records alongside class teachers.
- Prepare and exhibit students’ work within the school.
- Aid teachers with photocopying and other classroom tasks that facilitate instruction.
- Contribute to the school’s goals, ensuring compliance with safety, legislation, and policy guidelines.
- Provide academic support by offering group or individualized instruction as directed by teachers.
- Monitor and review pupils' assignments, encouraging on-task behavior and recognizing accomplishments.
- Organize learning materials daily and monitor student attendance.
- Supervise pupils in classrooms and other areas, supporting behavior policies and enhancing pupil self-esteem.
- Enforce discipline aligned with school-wide behavioral policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational attainment of a secondary school certificate.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a school environment.
- UAE National status is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in English aligned with the curriculum's standards.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience working with students for whom English is a second language.
- A strong passion for teaching and dedication to holistic child development.
- Professionalism with a high regard for student welfare.
- Active participation in extracurricular school activities.
- Respectful attitude towards all members of the school community, regardless of status or background.
- Positive, solution-oriented approach to work challenges.
- Possession of a recent, valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service or police clearance.
