Band 4 Assistant Psychologist - Solihull Community Mental Health Teams

Role Overview

We are recruiting for a full-time (37.5 hours per week), Band 4 Assistant Psychologist post within the Integrated Community Care and Recovery (ICCR) Services in Solihull, located at the Lyndon Resource Centre and the Maple Leaf Centre. This position is offered on a fixed-term contract lasting 20 months.

Key Duties and Team Involvement

The successful candidate will engage in one-to-one client consultations, facilitate group sessions, collaborate actively with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to research and audit activities. The Assistant Psychologist will be part of an established psychology team and receive individual clinical supervision from a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist. Predominantly, work will be conducted from the two bases with occasional remote working opportunities based on job responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

An ideal applicant will be a psychology graduate possessing relevant clinical experience and a strong passion for supporting individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental health challenges. A focus within this role is provision of services catering specifically to young people aged 18-25 years.

Service Context

This post functions within the ICCR Services, offering collaboration opportunities with psychology colleagues across various geographical locations and integrated teams servicing individuals with complex interpersonal and emotional difficulties. Service users may experience conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, personality disorders, psychosis, and dual diagnoses, often presenting service challenges. The role allows the development of clinical assessment, formulation, and intervention skills, plus involvement in audit and service evaluation alongside qualified professionals.
