Chief/Lead Investment Officer

Overview

This senior leadership role in investment is positioned within a global asset management firm. It carries comprehensive responsibility for overseeing a diverse family office portfolio that includes real estate, private equity, venture capital, and both publicly listed and private investments. The position demands a mix of strategic leadership and practical involvement in areas such as investment sourcing, portfolio oversight, and engagement with key stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

• Direct the overall investment strategy and manage the portfolio across various asset classes like real estate, private equity, venture capital, and equities.
• Scout, assess, and execute investment opportunities across different sectors.
• Prepare, analyze, and review financial models, investment assessments, and portfolio performance reports.
• Formulate commercial strategies and construct sound business cases for investments.
• Lead and mentor internal investment teams while working in cooperation with external partners and advisors.
• Maintain and nurture relationships with founders, investors, and strategic partners.
• Supervise due diligence practices and implement robust investment evaluation procedures.
• Champion the development of partnerships that span various industries and regions.

Required Experience and Expertise

• At least 10 years of experience in investment management roles such as private equity, venture capital, family offices, corporate development, or principal investments.
• Proven multi-sector investment experience encompassing real estate, venture capital, private equity, equities, or operational companies.
• Advanced skills in portfolio oversight, investment analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and developing teams.
• Exceptional commercial acumen and decision-making proficiency.
• Experience managing complex relationships with investors, founders, and partners.
• Familiarity with the investment landscape in Qatar is preferred.
• An extensive international investment network is considered beneficial.
