Chief Impact Officer

Position Overview

Our partner company based in the United States seeks a Chief Impact Officer to spearhead global initiatives aimed at enhancing ocean governance through transparency, technology, and strategic alliances. This executive role is responsible for crafting and executing long-range impact strategies that deliver quantifiable outcomes in conservation, policy development, and capacity enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish organizational strategy, performance goals, and impact measurement.
• Design, implement, and assess extensive multi-year programs centered on conservation, governance, and technology solutions.
• Lead diverse global program teams, fostering inclusion, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Set program objectives, key performance indicators, and oversee monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.
• Work closely with technology, science, innovation, communications, and operations departments to optimize mission outcomes.
• Identify and analyze emerging trends, potential risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities in international ocean governance.
• Support fundraising by contributing to grant proposals, donor engagement, and crafting impact narratives.
• Manage program budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensure adherence to donor requirements.
• Establish and nurture strategic alliances with government bodies, NGOs, scientific entities, and global stakeholders.
• Represent the organization in conferences, policy forums, workshops, and high-level meetings as a global ambassador.
• Communicate complex scientific, technological, and policy information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Engage in international travel to support partnerships and mission fulfillment, as required.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in relevant discipline preferred.
• Extensive senior leadership experience managing and scaling international programs, preferably in marine conservation or environmental governance.
• In-depth knowledge of global ocean policy, conservation issues, and political factors affecting marine resource management.
• Proven capability to lead multicultural and globally dispersed teams, fostering high performance and inclusivity.
• Strong aptitude for strategic planning, project management, and delivering complex initiatives.
• Excellent skills in diplomacy, negotiation, advocacy, and relationship-building with governmental, nonprofit, scientific, and philanthropic entities.
• Experience in forging partnerships and influencing leaders at international and senior organizational levels.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in risk assessment and solutions development.
• Track record supporting fundraising activities and managing engagements with public, private, and institutional donors.
• Competence in budget management and aligning financial resources with strategic goals.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with capability as an effective global spokesperson.
• Native or near-native proficiency in English; Spanish and/or French language skills are favorable.

Compensation and Benefits

• Executive-level salary, adjusted by location and experience:
• United States: $230,000 to $250,000 USD annually.
• United Kingdom: £150,000 to £170,000 GBP annually.
• Spain/European Union: €130,000 to €160,000 EUR annually.
