Position Overview

This opportunity is presented by an affiliated partner seeking a Commercial Transactional Lawyer located in New Zealand. Key Responsibilities

• Compose, assess, and negotiate a diverse assortment of commercial agreements such as supplier contracts, service contracts, licensing, distribution, partnership agreements, NDAs, and joint venture documentation.
• Render strategic legal advice addressing commercial risks, contractual duties, and compliance under Australian legislation and regulations.
• Engage with internal business units to guarantee that contractual arrangements advance business aims and operational success.
• Support legal aspects of corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring by conducting due diligence and preparing pertinent documents.
• Evaluate business initiatives from a legal perspective and propose practical, actionable solutions.
• Keep abreast of updates in commercial law, regulations, and contractual standards.
• Handle legal issues autonomously while maintaining precision, efficiency, and alignment with organizational priorities.
• Communicate complex legal ideas clearly and effectively to non-legal colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

• Law degree (LLB or equivalent).
• At least five years of legal experience specializing in commercial transactions, corporate law, or associated fields.
• Profound knowledge of Australian contract law, commercial legislation, and standard business operations.
• Demonstrated expertise in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising across a broad spectrum of commercial contracts.
• Capability to evaluate legal risks and offer practical, business-centric legal advice.
• Sharp analytical skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving proficiency.
• Self-driven with the ability to operate independently in a remote work environment without close supervision.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with international business teams and stakeholders.
• Previous remote working experience or collaborating with globally dispersed teams is advantageous.
