Reporting directly to the CEO and as a Board member, this role is critical in driving strategic decision-making and leading the finance function during a significant growth phase. The company is multi-site and aims to professionalise its finance operations while executing a buy-and-build growth strategy. The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute finance leader who excels in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board to formulate and execute strategic growth initiatives.
- Lead and enhance the finance department by implementing best practices in financial systems, controls, and governance.
- Produce timely and accurate financial reporting including statutory, management, investor, and Board reports such as annual budgets, long-term forecasts, and monthly board presentations.
- Establish and monitor financial and operational KPIs to drive improved business outcomes across multiple sites.
- Manage cash flow, treasury functions, working capital, and ensure adherence to financial covenants.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and funding program requirements.
- Support merger and acquisition activities through financial modelling, due diligence, deal structuring, integration, and investment evaluation.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, auditors, tax consultants, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide commercial insights to underpin strategic partnerships and enhance business performance.
- Prepare the organisation for future investment rounds and an eventual exit strategy.
Candidate Requirements
- Professional accountant qualification with robust technical accounting knowledge.
- Significant experience in a CFO or senior finance leadership role within a private equity-backed or leveraged company.
- Proven leadership of finance teams within multi-location or multi-site organisations.
- Strong commercial insight covering financial planning, cash flow management, and operational efficiency improvement.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, integration, and Irish market transactions is highly preferred.
- Track record in establishing and maturing finance functions in scaling businesses.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with effective Board-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptability to dynamic, fast-evolving entrepreneurial environments undergoing transformation.
- Background in regulated industries or funding-reliant sectors is advantageous, along with exposure to high-growth companies and successful private equity exits.
Compensation
The remuneration package includes a salary up to €170,000 dependent on experience, complemented by performance bonuses and a Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP).
