Position Overview
We seek a seasoned fractional Chief Financial Officer to support a rapidly growing healthcare startup based in the greater Washington, DC area from a remote setting. This long-term contract role requires a strategic financial leader capable of enhancing financial planning, reporting accuracy, and operational decision-making while establishing scalable financial processes essential for continued company expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning initiatives to boost clarity on financial outcomes and funding requirements.
- Develop and deliver precise financial reports that inform senior leadership decisions and shed light on business trends.
- Manage month-end close procedures to ensure timely, organized, and dependable financial statements.
- Offer strategic advice on capital planning and financial priorities aligned with startup growth objectives.
- Provide expert oversight on compliance with multi-state and international tax regulations, mitigating risks.
- Evaluate finance workflows, organizational structures, and business systems; recommend and implement efficiency and scalability improvements.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to design reporting frameworks, establish performance metrics, and build financial models supporting key strategic initiatives.
- Contribute hands-on expertise for special projects related to process enhancement and finance operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience serving as a CFO or in senior financial leadership, preferably within startup or high-growth environments.
- Strong proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Expert knowledge of financial reporting standards and month-end close processes.
- Understanding of capital management aligned with emerging company demands.
- Experience managing multi-state tax matters and international tax compliance challenges.
- Skilled in assessing and improving finance-related business systems, processes, and team dynamics.
- Capable of operating effectively in a fractional, advisory, and active leadership role in the healthcare sector.
