Job description
About the Opportunity
Prospera Executive is leading a search for an Operating Partner / Chief Executive Officer on behalf of a lower middle market healthcare private equity fund known for creating multi-site businesses from the ground up.
The fund has recently completed an oversubscribed raise and has already backed several platform investments, with strong realised outcomes across a number of exits. The selected leader will initially join in an Operating Partner capacity, collaborating closely with the investment team to define the strategy and establish the business, then move into the CEO position as the platform progresses.
The Role
This is a ground-up build rather than an existing operating business. The leader will serve as the operational designer and builder of a new healthcare services platform, taking it from the first site to a scaled business prepared for exit.
Key Priorities
- Work with the fund on choosing the vertical, shaping the market-entry approach, and designing the platform before the first acquisition or investment.
- Oversee de novo site creation, including site selection, clinical hiring, systems setup, compliance, and launch planning.
- Establish core corporate functions from day one, including revenue cycle management, finance, human resources, marketing, and call centre operations.
- Accelerate organic expansion through new locations, growth at existing sites, and development of adjacent service lines.
- Evaluate and bring in add-on acquisitions in coordination with the fund’s investment team.
- Recruit, lead, and develop the management team as the platform expands.
What the Fund Is Looking For
The strongest candidates will have a proven history of building a multi-site healthcare platform from the ground up. De novo or greenfield experience is the most important requirement.
They should be comfortable working without a prebuilt operating model and capable of creating the infrastructure, processes, and systems needed for growth.
Additional experience should include scaling a healthcare services business across multiple geographies and clinical settings, partnering with a private equity sponsor in an Operating Partner or platform CEO role, and understanding the main drivers of performance in multi-site healthcare, such as clinical staffing, RCM, site economics, and patient-volume growth.
Additional Information
The target vertical is not fixed. The fund focuses exclusively on healthcare services and has previously built and exited platforms across multiple specialties.
