Job description

Role overview

A private equity-funded financial technology company is looking for a commercially focused Chief Financial Officer to support the organisation through a major scaling phase. The business delivers essential software and technology services to financial institutions and is now moving into a period of rapid operational growth, product development, and strategic change after a recent investment round.

This is a high-profile leadership position working directly with the CEO, Board, and sponsor group. The role centers on strengthening finance foundations to institutional standards while also contributing to wider growth, transformation, and long-term value creation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the full finance stack, including FP&A, controllership, treasury, audit, tax, and strategic finance.
  • Work alongside the CEO and investors on long-range planning and initiatives aimed at creating enterprise value.
  • Develop and upgrade reporting, forecasting, financial systems, and day-to-day finance operations to a more institutional level.
  • Contribute to M&A assessment, post-deal integration, and other corporate development efforts.
  • Improve KPI tracking, operational discipline, and evidence-based decision-making across the company.
  • Maintain strong relationships with lenders, investors, and the board.
  • Help prepare the company for sustained growth and eventual exit readiness.

Candidate profile

  • Experience as a CFO or in a senior finance leadership role within a private equity-backed software, fintech, or technology-enabled business.
  • Background in fast-growing, operationally complex environments.
  • Proven ability to build finance infrastructure that can scale with the business.
  • Experience working closely with private equity sponsors and executive leadership teams.
  • M&A, integration, and transformation exposure is strongly preferred.
  • Must bring both strategic thinking and a hands-on execution mindset.

Additional details

  • Candidates based on the East Coast are preferred.
  • Regular travel and on-site presence will be required.
  • The compensation package is competitive and includes meaningful equity participation.
