Role Overview

The Chief Executive Officer of the Academy is tasked with shaping and implementing the strategic vision, fostering consistent growth, and creating new revenue-generating avenues. This leader oversees all commercial, academic, and operational facets, ensuring high-quality educational offerings that meet organizational and market needs. The CEO aims to position the Academy as a prominent provider of learning and capability development by broadening the client base, forging strategic alliances, launching commercially viable programs, and sustaining robust financial and operational outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute the Academy’s short- and long-term strategies aligned with overall Group objectives.
  • Convert the Academy’s vision into actionable commercial, academic, and operational plans.
  • Analyze market trends, identify skill gaps, and explore new learning opportunities.
  • Lead and nurture a performance-focused, innovative, customer-centric team culture.
  • Report business plans, performance, investment needs, and strategic proposals to senior management.
  • Drive business development to attract corporate, government, and institutional clients.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of commercial prospects, partnerships, and key accounts.
  • Develop market entry and growth strategies for new sectors, demographics, and regions.
  • Leverage Academy assets including expertise, facilities, content, trainers, and digital capabilities to monetize offerings.
  • Manage tender processes, commercial proposals, pricing models, contracts, and presentations.
  • Negotiate and secure contracts and strategic partnerships.
  • Represent the Academy at industry events, conferences, networking functions, and client engagements.
  • Build relationships with government agencies, universities, professional bodies, and training providers.
  • Oversee development of relevant training programs, accreditations, certifications, and executive education.
  • Introduce tailored learning solutions responsive to client needs and workforce capabilities.
  • Expand program offerings across classroom, field-based, blended, and digital modalities.
  • Ensure programs are commercially viable, scalable, and meet quality standards.
  • Explore partnerships for accredited programs with local and international institutions.
  • Ensure continuous enhancement of content, delivery approaches, assessments, and learner experiences.
  • Take full responsibility for financial performance including revenue, profitability, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Develop operational plans, revenue goals, and financial forecasts annually.
  • Monitor profitability of programs, resource utilization, pricing efficiency, and ROI.
  • Ensure optimal use of trainers, facilities, technology, and learning resources.
  • Implement effective policies, processes, systems, and governance.
  • Manage risks and ensure compliance with legal, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
  • Establish strong trust with clients and ensure high client satisfaction and contract delivery.
  • Collaborate with Group companies to meet internal capability-building needs.
  • Position the Academy as a strategic partner beyond a training provider.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms to evaluate learning and business impact.
  • Maintain communication with shareholders, executives, regulators, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Build a robust organizational structure to support growth ambitions.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain qualified staff across academic, commercial, and operational functions.
  • Set objectives and performance metrics for leadership teams.
  • Develop a network of experts, facilitators, consultants, and external trainers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related fields.
  • Advanced degree such as a Master's, MBA, or postgraduate qualification is highly preferred.
  • Additional professional credentials in learning and development, executive education, business development, or institutional leadership are beneficial.
