Role Overview
We are seeking mid-level or junior CG Modeling artists with prior industry experience to contribute to new CG projects. The role requires creativity, technical skill, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop show-style 3D models from scratch that comply with both technical and artistic project specifications.
- Manage workload efficiently to meet production deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and enthusiasm in a creative environment.
- Accept and integrate supervisory and directorial feedback promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate closely with Look Development Artists to ensure models integrate seamlessly within both Look Development and Modeling workflows.
- Work alongside fellow artists to ensure accurate technical and artistic implementation of developed assets.
- Coordinate with Riggers to guarantee character models function properly within the Rigging pipeline.
- Communicate proactively with supervisors about production challenges and propose creative resolutions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, and/or Mudbox software.
- Demonstrated ability to create intricate and precise models from 2D references or scan data.
- Thorough understanding of clean edge flow for organic and hard-surface modeling, with foundational knowledge of environment modeling.
- Background in visual arts or design, with solid grasp of form, geometry, and motion.
- Exceptional visual acuity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Consistently maintain productivity levels while delivering quality work within deadlines.
- Experience in Animation or Visual Effects industries is advantageous.
- Additional skills in texturing, shading, rendering, or rigging are beneficial.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems is a plus.
- Python scripting knowledge is an asset.
- Experience using Shotgun software for production tracking and asset management is helpful.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada is mandatory.
- Preference given to current residents of British Columbia.

- Remote work is permitted within BC; employees in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland may opt for hybrid or onsite work arrangements.
Compensation and Benefits
Atomic Cartoons offers competitive pay based on factors such as skills, location, and experience. The listed salary range is applicable only for BC-based roles and is expressed as a weekly rate.
Weekly pay range in Vancouver: 1000 to 1500 CAD.
