Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced CG Designer passionate about vehicle design to join our team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Create character, location, environment, and prop designs for CG productions, with an emphasis on vehicles.
- Adhere to established workflows to ensure efficient delivery.
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings as needed.
- Follow artistic direction provided by the Art Director.
- Consistently meet deadlines as assigned by production leads.
- Collaborate closely with the design team, sharing ideas and feedback.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- A compelling portfolio demonstrating mastery of art fundamentals including structure, composition, and design principles.
- Versatility showcasing a range of styles from cartoon to realistic.
- Keen visual acuity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills, openness to direction, and a positive mindset.
- Previous experience in CG animated features or series in a design capacity is beneficial.
- Portfolio examples specifically highlighting vehicle design are highly desirable.
- Background in designing backgrounds and environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with both Maya and Blender software is advantageous.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada is mandatory.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in British Columbia as of December 31, 2025, who can provide appropriate documentation.
Work Arrangement and Start Date
The initial contract will begin in July 2026. Employees can work remotely within British Columbia, with additional hybrid or in-studio options available for those in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is competitive and determined based on experience, skills, location, and background. The weekly pay range for British Columbia is between 1400 and 1600 CAD. Employees are eligible for benefits including medical coverage, group retirement savings plan (GRSP), vacation pay, paid holiday breaks, paid leave, and various discounts and perks.
