About the Role

As a Certified Birth Doula within the GROWTH with Doulas and Dads Program, you will manage a caseload of expectant mothers, conduct community outreach to recruit participants, complete family intake processes, and provide support through home visits and group services focused on maternal and family health. The geographical coverage includes counties in Central Florida such as Hillsborough, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver childbirth education and hands-on support both at homes and within the community setting.
  • Maintain a non-judgmental and respectful approach toward families of diverse cultural, religious, sexual, gender identities, and lifestyle backgrounds.
  • Uphold professional boundaries with families and healthcare providers consistently.
  • Accurately complete written family assessments promptly to assist program evaluation and continuous quality improvement.
  • Identify, connect with, and coordinate support services including formal and informal networks, community resources, and medical professionals.
  • Educate caregivers on child development and positive parenting practices to enhance healthy behaviors and attachment.
  • Fulfill all administrative documentation tasks in compliance with agency policies.
  • Engage in special projects, outreach initiatives, and other duties as assigned, including participation in on-call rotations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certification as a Birth Doula is mandatory.
  • Prior experience supporting children and families is preferred.
  • Knowledge of social services regulations, training standards, and compliance is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish are advantageous.
  • Experience with home visiting programs is desirable.
  • Proficient in general office technology such as computers, telecommunication devices, and related equipment.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle as required.
