Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for casual Farm Assistants to join our team at the Moutoa Dairy farms, located within a convenient 15-minute drive from Levin, Foxton, or Shannon. This role is ideal for those interested in starting, returning to, or supplementing their farming experience with flexible casual work.
Key Duties
You will provide support to the farm team during busier periods or when other team members are unavailable. Daily tasks are hands-on and diverse, including assisting with milking, calf rearing, fencing, weed management, and various general farm responsibilities.
Who You Are
We're seeking individuals who enjoy practical outdoor work and thrive in a collaborative environment where teamwork is valued. Prior dairy experience is beneficial but not essential as full training and guidance will be provided by an experienced team.
Requirements
- Some experience in dairy farming or a genuine enthusiasm to learn the trade.
- A strong commitment to animal welfare and workplace safety.
- Reliable, positive attitude with readiness to assist as needed.
- Good attention to detail and the confidence to seek clarification when unsure.
- Possession of a restricted or full driver's license.
Work Environment and Culture
Pāmu Moutoa comprises seven dairy farms milking approximately 4200 cows. The farms include both fully organic-certified and those transitioning to organic certification, offering varied and enriching experiences.
Safety and wellbeing are priorities; you will work with well-maintained equipment under clear health and safety protocols.

- This is a drive-in/drive-out position requiring reliable transportation.
