Job description
Role Summary
Dromoland Castle Resort is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Canteen Assistant who demonstrates proactivity and can operate effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position requires working Monday to Sunday with five working days out of seven, and shift patterns will vary necessitating flexibility due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the canteen maintains exceptional cleanliness standards by rigorously following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor and replenish food, beverages, and necessary supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Uphold compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations consistently.
- Assist in receiving deliveries and manage proper storage of stock items.
- Prepare and distribute daily menus within the canteen kitchen efficiently.
- Manage waste disposal including emptying bins and adhering to recycling protocols.
- Support food preparation and presentation ensuring meal standards meet expectations during service times.
- Maintain the cleanliness of service zones such as tables, counters, and vending machines.
Candidate Profile
- Experience or knowledge in food hygiene and sanitation procedures.
- Capability to work both on own initiative and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Possesses good time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Exhibits reliability and a positive work ethic.
- Has strong leadership qualities complemented by effective organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with HACCP procedures and general health & safety guidelines.
- Willingness to be flexible, including the ability to support functions outside regular hours.
- Committed team player with a practical approach focused on service excellence.
