Drawing on decades of hands-on experience, the group is undergoing a strategic transformation, investing deeply in systems, branding, and innovation to support growth.
Role Overview
This position calls for a dynamic self-starter prepared to engage beyond the desk. The successful candidate will actively interface with operational teams on site to drive the transition from manual, paper-based methods to integrated business systems. Additionally, this role encompasses full ownership of the company’s brand strategy and marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the systematic replacement of paper processes with unified business systems by collaborating directly with frontline operational staff.
- Oversee external IT service providers, software vendors, and internal IT teams to ensure dependable and efficient technology infrastructure.
- Design and execute training programs that foster meaningful change in employee workflows and mindsets.
- Manage all aspects of the Portland brand, including strategic planning, budgeting, campaign development, and decisions on in-house versus outsourced activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team to translate marketing initiatives into measurable commercial outcomes.
- Integrate risk assessment criteria into decisions regarding systems, vendor relationships, and marketing tactics.
Candidate Profile
- A proactive problem solver who identifies issues and addresses them independently.
- Effective communicator able to discuss complex systems with IT professionals and simplify concepts for operational personnel.
- Experienced trainer and change agent skilled at bringing non-technical teams on board.
- Commercially savvy, comfortable managing budgets and negotiating with external partners.
- At least three years of experience in business systems/process improvement and marketing or brand management, with solid exposure to both areas.
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, or other operational sectors is advantageous.
Why Join Portland
This role offers substantial influence to shape how a long-standing group operates and presents itself across systems, people, and brand initiatives. Reporting directly to the Administration Director, the position provides decision-making authority and organizational support to implement change effectively.
