Job description
About the Role
Netflix is looking for a finance professional to support U.S.-based Marketing teams as a business partner. This role sits at the intersection of finance, procurement, and operations, with a strong need for expertise in source-to-pay workflows, supplier sourcing, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and can help shape procurement finance strategies such as location planning and cost optimization.
This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles, with in-office work on Tuesday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a dedicated finance partner for Marketing teams.
- Support strong operational performance across Finance Procurement Operations systems and processes tied to Marketing objectives.
- Lead efforts to simplify, automate, and improve manual workflows, including participation in system feature development and user acceptance testing.
- Work with business and legal partners on supplier sourcing, contract evaluation, renewals, and building a resilient and diverse supply base.
- Handle finance operations such as supplier sourcing, contract review, purchase orders, change orders, invoice review, supplier management, and management reporting to ensure financial accuracy.
- Own month-end accrual activities and coordinate with operations accounting to explain major spend variances from one period to the next.
- Maintain accurate expense coding so reporting is meaningful and actuals can be tracked against budget and forecast, while communicating expected variances.
- Monitor invoice volume trends and coordinate with accounts payable on non-PO invoices, manual invoices, and non-OCR invoices.
- Spot process breakdowns and lead projects that streamline and automate finance and payment workflows.
- Take on additional duties and ad hoc work that support business goals.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience supporting Marketing teams or similarly fast-paced functions in a finance or accounting role, with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience managing a high volume of stakeholders and developing strong working relationships.
- Strong accuracy when preparing and entering financial data.
- A service-minded approach with clear communication and close attention to detail.
- Deep understanding of the source-to-pay process, including supplier sourcing, contract review, and procure-to-pay workflows.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Alignment with Netflix culture and values.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background working with shared services centers across different regions.
- Experience using ERP and sourcing tools such as Workday Financials and Tableau.
- Experience in the entertainment and/or technology industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA is a plus.
- Experience using AI-powered insights or automation to improve finance workflows, vendor selection, or marketing spend efficiency.
