Role overview
Bundaberg State High School is looking for a capable and adaptable Business Manager to lead key operational functions across human resources, finance, facilities management, and work health and safety. The appointment begins in Semester 2, 2026.
In this position, you will work alongside the Business Manager (Strategy & Operations) and the Principal to provide specialist advice, strengthen business processes, and keep school operations running efficiently, compliantly, and in line with strategic priorities.

Key duties
- Exercise a high level of independence while ensuring business service objectives are met, guiding diverse teams and setting clear expectations for service delivery in a dynamic school context.
- Support and lead executive and administrative services, including handling multiple tasks, coordinating multidisciplinary groups with competing deadlines, interpreting departmental policies, and overseeing training and development for school support staff.
- Identify and implement improvements that make business processes and work practices more efficient and effective.
- Lead human resources activities for school support staff, including talent spotting, performance support, mentoring, workforce planning, recruitment, induction, training, vacancy processing, skills analysis, performance management, and rehabilitation processes.
- Work with the Principal to support change across school support staff and ensure HR practices align with current standards, awards, and conditions.
- Provide leadership across finance, facilities, and WH&S responsibilities as part of the school’s broader operational management.
