Business Finance Analyst, Central Intelligence and Analytics APAC

About the Role

This role is integral to Google's Central Intelligence and Analytics (CIA) team in APAC, part of the Business Finance unit. As a Business Finance Analyst, you will ensure sound financial decisions by providing in-depth analysis and insights that empower strategic choices and operational excellence across Google's APAC advertising business.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner strategically with APAC business and sales leadership to support annual planning, monitor key initiatives, validate performance scorecards, and develop dashboards and detailed financial impact analyses.
• Lead the development and modeling of APAC sales quotas for quarterly and annual cycles, collaborate with global teams on compensation frameworks, and oversee expense categories including operational expenditure, sales bonuses, and policy exceptions.
• Manage and produce core business reports such as weekly revenue reviews, the APAC Fact Pack, and comprehensive variance analyses to prepare leadership for executive-level financial reviews.
• Drive external benchmarking efforts and build technical solutions including Google-internal data pipelines, optimized SQL queries, and interactive Business Intelligence dashboards to enhance analytical capacity across the region.
• Lead AI experimentation projects aimed at automating finance workflows, refreshing database tables, and performing sophisticated financial analyses to improve efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least four years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, business analysis, or data analysis; advanced degrees considered favorably.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, SQL, and data manipulation tools.
• Preferred skills include experience with dashboard creation, Business Intelligence development, and constructing data pipelines.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as R or Python is beneficial.
• Strong analytical capabilities to extract insights from data and influence business decision-making.
• Proactive problem-solving aptitude, able to navigate ambiguity and contribute in less structured environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, effective at delivering credible messages to influence senior executives.
