Position overview

The Business Development Representative I at Diligent is a key contributor to new business growth. In this role, you will identify fresh opportunities, reach out to potential clients, and help create outbound pipeline. You will act as a brand representative for Diligent’s products, using strong conversational skills and solid product understanding to generate interest and support outbound sales goals.

This opportunity sits within a fast-growing, market-leading business and is aimed at people who are motivated by targets and results. The role includes a strong base salary plus a competitive commission plan, and strong performers can move forward into broader corporate software sales expertise. The focus of this position is the France and Benelux regions.

Responsibilities

  • Use lead-generation platforms and sales tools to find contacts and build precise prospect lists, including through cold calling, LinkedIn, outreach tools, Salesforce, and ZoomInfo.
  • Carry out sales development activity across email, phone, and social channels to connect with new prospects.
  • Ask thoughtful, targeted questions to identify and qualify the right decision-makers.
  • Create interest and influence potential opportunities with new prospects.
  • Arrange meetings and demos on account executives’ calendars and record activity accurately in the CRM.
  • Work toward or exceed assigned targets and KPIs.
  • Support teammates with effective approaches that improve overall team results.
  • Handle additional duties as required by business needs.

Requirements

  • Genuine enthusiasm for working in a sales environment that is focused on targets and performance.
  • Good understanding of the sales process, from marketing and prospecting to cold calling and managing the full sales cycle.
  • Ability to explain a product’s value clearly and quickly build strong product knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Strong verbal and written presentation ability, with a persuasive and clear style.
  • Energetic, positive, and proactive attitude.
  • French language proficiency.
  • Experience in SaaS sales is preferred.
  • Experience building relationships with C-suite stakeholders is preferred.
