Job description
Role overview
In this position, you will act as a strategic HR partner to business leaders, helping shape how teams are hired, developed, engaged, and retained. You will convert workforce and people insights into practical actions that improve performance and strengthen culture.
You will advise leaders on organizational structure, coach managers, and use data to uncover trends before they grow into bigger issues. As the primary HR partner for employee relations in India, you will help navigate complex matters with sound judgment, empathy, and a solid understanding of local employment law. Your influence will be felt across the employee journey, from onboarding and performance to recognition and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and people strategy.
- Review both qualitative and quantitative data to spot patterns, support decision-making, and turn findings into clear action plans.
- Take ownership of complex employee relations cases in India and work toward fair, compliant, and timely resolutions.
- Build, refine, and deliver people programs covering performance management, career growth, coaching, and recognition for managers and individual contributors.
- Run major HR cycles such as performance reviews, compensation planning, and talent reviews for your business area while staying aligned with global practices.
- Keep up with evolving HR practices and legal updates, and proactively advise leaders on how these changes affect their teams.
Required experience and skills
You should bring at least 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner role or a similar HR function. The role requires direct experience handling employee relations in India, including sensitive and complex situations. You must be comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, and managing several priorities in a fast-moving environment. Strong judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and the ability to work on time-sensitive matters are essential. Excellent written and spoken communication, along with the ability to present and facilitate confidently, is also important. You should also have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a consistent ability to build trust and follow through.
Preferred qualifications
It is helpful to have experience supporting Technology and Product teams or similar knowledge-driven functions. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, business administration, communications, or a related field is preferred. We also value people who are adaptable, curious, proactive, and strong in both analytical thinking and creative problem-solving.
