Business Development Officer - Crates

About the Role

A leading plastics packaging business is looking for a commercially minded Business Development Officer to drive sales performance and support market growth. The role focuses on stackable crates as well as rigid and flexible packaging solutions.

Application Process

Key Responsibilities

• Sell stackable crates and plastic packaging products.
• Build new business leads while expanding revenue from current customers.
• Visit clients, deliver presentations, and handle negotiations to secure deals.
• Maintain sales pipelines and monitor revenue goals.
• Collect market insight on competitors, pricing, and new business openings.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met smoothly.
• Meet assigned targets for sales, volume, and profitability.
• Market value-added offerings such as IML and stretch-based solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.
• Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of experience in sales or business development within the plastic packaging sector.
• Good knowledge of rigid and flexible packaging products is necessary.
• Prior exposure to stackable crates or returnable packaging solutions is highly preferred.
• Experience with IML and/or stretch products will strengthen the application.
• Background selling to FMCG, beverage, dairy, horticulture, logistics, or manufacturing clients is an advantage.
• Strong skills in negotiation, presentations, and customer relationship management are important.
• The ideal candidate should be commercially focused, performance-driven, and outcome oriented.

Additional Information

This position is based in Nairobi County, Kenya and is a full-time, onsite role. The job title includes a gross salary of KES 120,000.
