Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager with expertise in Weddings and Special Occasions to drive growth and forge successful relationships within this market segment. This role is focused on expanding our weddings and social group clientele, managing partnerships, and supporting sales initiatives under the guidance of the Director of Weddings and Special Occasions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and grow new retail agency and wholesale accounts while optimizing opportunities with existing partners.
  • Design and execute effective sales strategies and action plans aimed at meeting sales targets through lead generation.
  • Facilitate training sessions and webinars with agencies to communicate offerings within the Weddings and Special Occasions portfolio.
  • Represent the resort at various trade shows, bridal events, and leisure sales familiarization trips, conducting presentations and sales calls for new and targeted accounts.
  • Coordinate and support hosting of familiarization trips (FAMs) alongside the Director.
  • Generate qualified sales leads for the Weddings and Special Occasions Sales Team.
  • Manage lead distribution and oversee the shared inbox and voicemail systems related to weddings and special occasions inquiries.
  • Assist with early-stage sales activities including initial lead responses, rate proposals, and venue availability checks.
  • Analyze performance metrics of agency and wholesale accounts to identify revenue potential and trends; communicate findings to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Directors and internal/external stakeholders to enhance VIP and bridal client services.

Candidate Profile and Skills

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in hotel or resort sales, weddings sales and planning, or related fields, preferably with exposure to destination marketing.
  • Strong understanding of weddings and social group market segments such as agencies, consortia, wholesale markets, and direct client business.
  • Demonstrated success managing VIP clients and expert networking abilities to convert new business.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills across diverse platforms and audiences.
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing multiple demands while maintaining effective internal and external relationships under pressure.
  • Experience with CRM and industry-specific software tools like LMS and Delphi.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or equivalent professional experience.
