Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager specialized in the sports category to join our Brands Operations team. This position focuses on securing brand-name products for our platform and requires deep expertise in supplier engagement and procurement within the sports sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize current resources to identify and assess wholesalers and distributors relevant to the sports category for potential brand partnerships.
- Actively source and evaluate new sports suppliers to ensure our platform offers competitive pricing and maintains a reliable inventory of leading sports brands.
- Lead negotiations around pricing and minimum order quantities (MOQs) to accommodate both trial purchases and establish foundations for bulk buying partnerships.
- Ensure procurement agreements align with company strategic objectives, focusing on competitive prices, timely shipments, and flexible terms for sports merchandise.
- Analyze EU sports market trends to spot potential top-selling sports brand products and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Monitor inventory levels of sports products to maintain alignment with sales targets and optimize supply chain workflows.
- Gather and assess customer feedback to refine procurement approaches and meet market demands.
- Collaborate with global procurement and other cross-functional teams to enhance procurement processes and logistics related to sports products.
- Manage supplier performance, ensuring high-quality service and driving ongoing improvements with key sports brand partners.
- Track supply chain key performance indicators such as on-time deliveries and supplier success rates to foster continuous efficiencies.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in procurement, business development, or vendor management specifically in the sports industry.
- Well-established network among wholesalers and distributors within the sports category.
- Comprehensive understanding of EU sports wholesale procurement practices, capable of swift supplier engagement and partnership formation.
- Strong negotiation capabilities to achieve favorable pricing, MOQs, and delivery terms.
- Acute market insight to identify trending sports products and enhance procurement tactics effectively.
- Adaptability and strategic foresight to handle procurement at both small and large scales efficiently.
