About SHEIN and the Role
SHEIN is a rapidly expanding international online fashion retailer seeking a skilled professional to join as the Director of Government Relations for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze strategic public policy developments and assess their impact on SHEIN's business interests within APAC.
- Provide actionable advice to senior leadership and business units on political, regulatory, and policy matters affecting the company.
- Engage and cultivate relationships with vital stakeholders including government officials, regulators, NGOs, media, and industry bodies to advance market access and business growth in the region.
- Design and implement advocacy strategies that convert policy discussions into measurable commercial gains.
- Craft and lead strategic communication plans to strengthen the company’s policy positioning and public profile.
- Coordinate meetings with external entities, including preparing briefing materials and presentations for senior executives.
- Oversee and coordinate networking events and platforms to enhance stakeholder collaboration.
- Lead and nurture a team across APAC with a focus on proactivity and commercial-mindedness.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, Law, Economics, Communications, Media, Journalism, or closely related disciplines.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in corporate or public affairs, government relations, public policy, corporate communications, or public relations.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy research, development, analysis, and external communication strategy formulation and execution.
- A well-established policy and regulatory network within the APAC region.
- Proven ability to resolve complex issues effectively while upholding high standards.
- Strong motivation to convert policy and regulatory interactions into commercial results.
- Excellent analytical, oral and written presentation, and project management skills.
- Fluency in English and Chinese.
- Superior interpersonal abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic setting.
