Role Overview

The Senior Associate or Manager will join SHEIN’s Policy and Strategy team in Singapore, focusing on global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) public policy initiatives. This position entails tracking and evaluating ESG-related policy and regulatory developments, supporting compliance with significant global ESG regulations, enhancing SHEIN’s ESG governance and reporting processes, cultivating strategic ESG partnerships, and improving SHEIN’s ESG narrative and external presence. The role demands close collaboration with various global and local teams, including Government Relations, Public Relations, Sustainability, Legal, Compliance, and operational business units.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze ESG policies and regulatory changes globally, concentrating on those with considerable business, operational, reporting, reputational, or compliance impact on SHEIN.
• Advise senior management and relevant internal stakeholders on strategies to mitigate ESG policy risks and prepare for anticipated regulatory developments, supporting advocacy efforts where suitable.
• Lead and coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to ensure adherence to impactful ESG regulations worldwide.
• Assist in fortifying SHEIN’s ESG reporting capabilities by improving governance frameworks, processes, data preparedness, and alignment on critical ESG topics.
• Contribute to the creation of SHEIN’s annual sustainability and social impact reports, ESG disclosures, and other communications that bolster the company’s ESG positioning and external reputation.
• Develop and manage strategic collaborations with influential ESG stakeholders such as NGOs, international bodies, industry groups, government officials, regulators, and business networks to enhance trust and advance SHEIN’s ESG objectives.
• Coordinate with internal teams to effectively communicate major ESG projects, initiatives, and policy stances to both internal and external audiences.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• A degree in ESG, Environmental Policy, International Relations, Public Policy, Sustainability, Law, Political Science, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience for the Senior Associate level or 6 or more years for the Manager level in ESG domains, corporate/public affairs, government relations, public policy, sustainability, or regulatory compliance.
• Proven expertise in public policy research, regulatory scrutiny, ESG reporting, sustainability governance, or compliance within either the public or private sector.
• Background in strategy roles within government agencies, international organizations, associations, consultancy, or corporations is favorable.
• Strong project management capabilities with experience coordinating internal and external stakeholders to complete projects, partnerships, reports, and policy initiatives.
• Excellent analytical skills along with strong written and verbal presentation abilities.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively across diverse cultural, functional, and market contexts.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail in a fast-moving and complex environment.
