Role Overview

The Enterprise Business Development Lead plays a critical commercial role by forging new enterprise partnerships that unlock novel market channels. This position requires a proactive and tenacious professional skilled at opening doors, establishing rapport with senior decision-makers, and transforming innovative ideas into revenue-driving relationships. You will leverage Bionic's existing capabilities and collaborate closely with Commercial, Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to create and launch impactful partnerships, accelerating customer acquisition among SMEs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively target and engage a prioritized list of high-value enterprise prospects while continuously scouting for new strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial outreach and discovery to complex contract negotiations and deal closure.
  • Collaborate with Product, Commercial, and Marketing teams to design go-to-market strategies leveraging current capabilities and crafting bespoke commercial propositions.
  • Build financial models and forecasts to evaluate opportunity profitability, balancing revenue potential with required investments and implementation efforts.
  • Drive deals through to launch, ensuring smooth handoffs internally and sustained momentum during implementation phases.
  • Continuously enhance methods for identifying, pursuing, and converting enterprise partnership opportunities.

Performance Metrics

  • Close £1 million to £3 million annualized revenue deals from new enterprise partnerships.
  • Secure between 3 and 6 new strategic partnerships annually, each enabling substantial SME reach.
  • Generate a qualified pipeline valued £8 million to £15 million yearly through self-sourced and strategic outreach efforts.
  • Maintain an average deal cycle of 6 to 12 months from first substantive engagement to signed agreement.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate excels at winning complex enterprise deals and thrives executing all aspects from strategy development through to deal closure. You combine persistence with credibility and flawless operational skills. You'll be an elite 'hunter' adept at opening initially closed doors and connecting with senior executives across major organizations.

  • Proven expertise in engaging C-suite and senior leaders to create business opportunities.
  • Commercial creativity in market segmentation, account targeting, and compelling value proposition crafting, often collaborating with marketing teams for impactful outreach.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills tailored for diverse high-level stakeholders.
  • Exceptional execution capability ensuring deal momentum and successful launches without oversight gaps.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams including Product, Technology, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to align on commercial objectives.

Skills & Expertise

  • Commercial modeling and deal structuring proficiency.
  • Advanced negotiation skills within complex enterprise settings.
  • Familiarity with APIs, embedded solutions, and technology ecosystems.
  • Expertise in value proposition design tailored to diverse sectors.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and project execution capabilities.
  • Strong account planning, segmentation, and enterprise prospecting skills.

Experience Requirements

  • Between 5 and 10 years of experience in Enterprise Business Development or Strategic Partnerships, with substantial success closing enterprise-level deals.
  • Demonstrable record of independently originating, negotiating, and closing major corporate partnerships.
  • Experience navigating complex buying processes involving multiple stakeholders in large organizations.
  • Preferably from backgrounds such as FinTech, SaaS, Banking, Technology, or high-growth B2B marketplaces.

Employee Benefits

Bionic prioritizes employee wellbeing and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Private healthcare coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Programme featuring virtual GP services, physiotherapy, and mental health therapies.
