Role Overview
As a Business Analyst within the Capital Markets division, you will independently oversee medium to large-scale projects throughout their lifecycle. You will proficiently use BA tools such as business requirement documents, functional specifications, data matrices, and workflow diagrams to ensure precise project execution. Responsibilities include collaborating with global stakeholders to develop project pipelines and business cases, establishing governance frameworks, leading BA teams, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business units to define tactical and strategic solution needs, encompassing services and program aspects.
- Engage with Technology, Operations, Finance, and Front Office teams to identify opportunities that enhance project delivery and optimize business processes related to products, services, and programs.
- Train team members on various domain topics, structure project governance models, and develop induction frameworks alongside regional teams for onboarding resources.
- Compile comprehensive project reports including weekly updates, monthly status reports highlighting risks and resource utilization, analyzing trends, and recommending strategic adjustments.
- Manage full project delivery lifecycle, ensuring meticulous documentation, continuous risk and issue management, overseeing user acceptance testing (UAT) with formal sign-off, project closure, and lesson documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven track record as a Business Analyst within an investment banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of capital market products and derivatives across various asset classes.
- Deep understanding of trade lifecycles, global regulations, and trading/investment banking operations.
- Experience executing projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies with clear comprehension of deliverables for each.
- Background in digital transformation and data analytics initiatives.
- Exceptional attention to detail with high standards for documentation, process quality, and control environments.
- Comprehensive experience in end-to-end software delivery lifecycle (SDLC).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Familiarity with data analysis, visualization, and BI tools such as SQL, Python, Dremio, PowerBI, Alteryx, and Tableau is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation capabilities.
- Adaptable to change with effective adjustment to varying plans and priorities.
- Capable of handling ambiguous situations while maintaining focus on objectives.
- Strong follow-through to ensure commitments are fulfilled and desired results achieved.
- Demonstrated expertise in best practices for functional testing, particularly User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Domain and Business Expertise
- Experience driving process changes using relevant methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge across vital business areas such as Trade Lifecycle, Trade Processing, Regulatory Reporting, Collateral Management, and Derivatives Operations.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and plan stakeholder engagement effectively.
Additional Skills
- Strong communication, data analysis, presentation, and process development skills.
- Mastery of MS Office and problem-solving abilities including root cause analysis, business case creation, estimation, and scoping.
