Business Analyst - Capital Markets

Role Overview

This position entails managing medium to large-scale projects independently throughout their lifecycle while proficiently applying business analysis tools such as business requirement documents, functional specifications, data matrix, and workflow diagrams.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global stakeholders to build project pipelines and business cases, establishing governance frameworks, leading BA teams, and ensuring project success through to implementation.
• Support business stakeholders with both tactical and strategic solution requirements, services, or programs.
• Coordinate with Technology, Operations, Finance, and Front Office teams to identify and optimize opportunities that contribute to project delivery and enhance products, services, and business processes.
• Train team members on various topics, structure project governance models, and develop induction frameworks in coordination with regional teams.
• Prepare regular project documentation and status reports that include weekly updates, monthly status, risk identification, resource utilization analysis, trend evaluations, and recommendations for adjustments.
• Manage the end-to-end project delivery process, ensuring proper documentation, continual risk and issue assessment, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) management and sign-off, formal project closure, handover, and capturing lessons learned.

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst within investment banking, with a sound understanding of capital market products and derivatives across various asset classes.
• In-depth knowledge of trade lifecycles, global regulations, and trading/investment banking workflows.
• Proficiency in managing projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies, familiar with the specific deliverables for each.
• Experience in digital transformation and data analytics projects.
• Excellent attention to detail with high standards for documentation, process integrity, and control environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end systems delivery lifecycle (SDLC).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
• Desirable proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools such as SQL, Python, Dremio, Power BI, Alteryx, and Tableau.
• Effective communication, organizational, and documentation abilities.
• Adaptability and openness to changing project requirements and priorities.
• Ability to operate confidently under ambiguous developments, maintaining focus to meet objectives despite challenges.
• Strong follow-up capability to ensure commitments are fulfilled and results are achieved.
• Robust understanding of best practices in functional testing, especially User Acceptance Testing.

Domain and Business Expertise

• Experience in process change methodologies and tools.
• Expertise in key areas such as trade lifecycle, trade processing, regulatory reporting, collateral management, and derivatives operations (with at least one specialty).
• Strong critical thinking skills with foresight to anticipate issues and conduce stakeholder elicitation sessions.
• Industry and product knowledge relevant to the role.
• Additional skills in communication, data analysis, presentation, process development, Microsoft Office mastery, issue-based problem solving, root cause analysis, business case formulation, estimation, and scoping.

• Role location is Mumbai, Goregaon East.
• Experience preferred: 8+ years.
• Notice period flexibility: 0 to 30 days.
