Job Summary
This role involves organizing and managing youth basketball tournaments and showcase events nationwide as part of the Prep Hoops team. As a showcase director, you will lead event execution, serve as the primary representative of the event operations team, and ensure a premium experience for all participants leveraging provided tools, training, and resources.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the event operations office team to plan all preparatory elements including supply pickup, printing materials, and coordinating participant assignments to courts.
- Manage event execution by working closely with venues and staff to facilitate smooth check-ins, event proceedings, and event closure to guarantee an excellent attendee experience.
- Maintain clear communication with all event staff and facility contacts before and during events.
- Handle onsite troubleshooting and promptly resolve any issues arising during the event.
Qualifications and Skills
- Highly organized with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities.
- Prior experience managing showcase events catering to 50 to 200 participants is strongly preferred.
- Ability to make quick decisions and efficiently solve problems under pressure.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience supervising and managing groups of 10 or more people.
- Proficiency with technology including use of a laptop or iPad and familiarity with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and similar tools.
