Role Overview
This full-time barista position is based at Victoria International Airport in Sidney, British Columbia, and sits within SSP Canada’s airport food and beverage operations. The role is part of a secure airport setting and requires a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).

About the Workplace
SSP Canada runs multiple dining outlets inside Victoria International Airport, including Spinnakers on the Fly, Fresh Cup, and Tim Hortons.
Security and Work Authorization Requirements
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada and must be able to provide the government-issued documents needed for airport security clearance. These documents will be checked during onboarding in line with Transport Canada requirements. Because the job is in a restricted airport area, successful candidates must obtain a RAIC.
Key Duties
- Enter guest orders into the point-of-sale system and create a bill for each customer
- Handle cash payments, provide change, confirm charge validity, log transactions, and make sure vouchers are completed correctly
- Keep the bar properly stocked and organized at all times
- Prepare, cut, and store fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishable items each day to protect quality
- Follow all provincial, federal, and company rules related to serving alcohol, including rules for minors and intoxicated guests
- Carry out routine cleaning duties with approved cleaning supplies to maintain health and sanitation standards
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Welcome guests promptly, politely, and in a friendly manner
Skills and Experience Needed
The role requires at least one year of serving experience. Applicants should have a Serving It Right certificate, understand basic food and beverage service, and be comfortable handling alcoholic beverages. Strong English communication skills are needed to interact with guests and take orders. The position also calls for basic arithmetic for cash handling, making change, balancing tills, preparing cash drops, and working with weights and measurements.
