Team overview
Temasek Singapore stewards Singapore-based Temasek Portfolio Companies by partnering them for the long term, supporting growth, reinforcing foundations, and helping them remain globally competitive while staying anchored in Singapore. Within this setup, the Ecosystem Enablement team supports a resilient and vibrant Temasek ecosystem in Singapore.
By working closely with investment and portfolio development teams, the group monitors relevant public policy changes, builds relationships with government representatives, regulators, and trade unions, and helps surface commercial opportunities for Temasek and its wider ecosystem.
Role summary
The selected candidate will contribute to Temasek’s public policy and stakeholder engagement efforts across key focus areas. This position involves reviewing policy changes, helping shape policy positions, developing strategic external relationships, and leading engagement initiatives that support project objectives and business outcomes. The role works closely with the Director and collaborates with internal partners across Portfolio Development and other investment teams.
Key responsibilities
- Review policy and regulatory shifts that may affect Temasek’s ecosystem.
- Identify, segment, and prioritise stakeholders across government, regulatory bodies, trade unions, and other ecosystem partners.
- Create and implement engagement plans in priority areas such as energy transition, sustainability, resilience, and digital, while building relationships that advance policy goals and business priorities.
- Organise and oversee stakeholder meetings, engagement forums, and networking platforms.
- Convert policy insights and stakeholder engagement into practical recommendations and commercial opportunities.
- Drive cross-functional workstreams involving multiple internal teams.
Requirements
- A degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Law, Business Management, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Eight to ten years of relevant experience in public policy, government relations, or a similar field.
- Strong grasp of Singapore’s policy environment and key stakeholder landscape.
- An established network within Singapore’s government, along with the ability to engage senior stakeholders credibly and manage protocol appropriately.
- Strong capability in analysis, communication, and project coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex matters in a fast-moving setting.
- Strong interest in where policy intersects with business, sustainability, technology, and economic development.
- Experience in strategy work within a government agency or corporate setting would be an advantage.
