Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Technician to join our Timaru workshop. This role involves diagnosing and repairing faults in heavy diesel vehicles, completing servicing tasks, and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the workshop. The successful candidate will have experience with diesel engines and commercial vehicles, and enjoy working within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and fix faults in diesel engines and vehicle systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance and preventive servicing
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
• Document all job details accurately and maintain service records
• Work closely with Service Advisors and communicate effectively with customers
• Ensure the workshop is safe, clean, and organized at all times

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certified Heavy Diesel or Automotive Technician
• At least 3 years of experience working with diesel engines or heavy commercial vehicles
• Proficient diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail with pride in delivering quality workmanship
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Strict adherence to safety protocols and workshop best practices
